Arrived In Val T on Wednesday 14th Dec to find My competition has been delayed until the 21st. On the upside this is down to the amount of new snow, downside theres to much snow for the main chairlifts to open.
The weekend coming is sounding much better, should be out riding the new powder and hitting the kickers up the hill, cant wait, so close yet so far away…..
Packing today, getting ready to head out to Val Thorens. The snow cover in Val T looks amazing and there’s more coming later this week. On Friday 25th November I attended the Wokingham sports awards at Bearwood College near Wokingham. There was an inspirational talk given by GB Hockey team goalkeeper ‘Beth Storry”, which was an amazing insight into the commitment needed to succeed in sports!
Then followed the presentations, I was stoked to be awarded the U14 Boys sports personality of the year. To be honest after listening to all the other athletes who were nominated and the achievements they have made I didn’t think I would win, so many great athletes in the Berkshire area..
My Trophy was presented by Beth and the Lord Mayor of Wokingham, they even played a short video edit from my last season.
Great inspiring evening, thank you Wokingham sports Council and thank you to the great people who have helped me since I started Freestyle skiing.
Training 5 times a week now in prep for this winter season, thanks to Webbo. Hard work but worth it!
Some time ago my Sports teacher at Emmbrook school apparently entered me for young sports personality of the year 2011, just received an invitation to attend the award ceremony this Friday 25th November. Apparently I have been selected as the U14 Boys winner. Stoked…
Saturday 8th Oct saw the launch of the Atom Jam at the Hemel snow centre. An amazing set up with huge kicker and rails for all abilities. Stoked with my 1st place in my category! Working on my switch trick bag on the kicker and mixing it up on the rails worked for me…
Just fitted the new FFG14 team bindings to my Atomic Punx skis, these look awesome and gave me the edge on the night.
The organisers are making this an annual event, can’t wait for next year.
